Nine things to build with Claude Code or Codex. Each one has a brief you paste to the agent, small milestones, and ideas for when you want more.

Pick by the stars. One star is an evening. Two stars take a few sittings and use a database or files online. Three stars are real projects with a server. Start with a one-star project and finish it, even if it feels too easy. Then try a harder one. Finishing small things is how you learn what the agent is good at.

Every brief builds the thing itself first. A dot in the milestone list marks the point where it works on its own. What comes after makes it remember things or work for more than one person. Stop at the dot, use what you built, and go on when you want more.

  Dodge

  A game in one file. You move, things fall, you dodge them.

  Teaches: drawing on a canvas, a game loop, and keyboard and touch controls.

  A daily word game where you guess a five-letter word, with a result you can share.

  Teaches: game rules in code, a puzzle that changes each day, and saving progress in the browser.

  A step sequencer for making beats, plus a rhythm game that plays them back.

  Teaches: making sound in the browser with Web Audio and keeping exact time.

  A 3D world made from random numbers that you fly around in. Worlds can be saved and shared.

  Teaches: 3D with Three.js, procedural generation, and saving to R2 and D1.
